The Place

This week I am writing about an oldie but a goodie, Nada. I would have to say this place ignited my love for brunching out with my girlfriends and was one of the best options for dining out downtown prior to the advent of Vine St. in OTR. I have spent countless birthday's, bachelorette parties, and Friday nights out on the town here. What can I say, so many great memories! It has been almost seven years since I have dined here and I am glad to be back for a brunch review.

Location & Parking

Nada is located on the corner of 6th and Walnut. This spot does not open until 11AM, which can make my preferred free Sunday meter parking limited. Since Nada is located right next to the Aronoff Center beware of the dreaded "Special Event" parking. This means most surrounding lots and garages charge a whopping 15 to 20 dollars to park, yikes! Always make reservations and plan to arrive a little early to find optimal parking.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere never disappoints. It's fun, upbeat, and you feel like you are dining in Miami. The decor is colorful, the whole front of the restaurant, first and second floor, is glass window pane. There is no shortage of daylight here (you'll be able to tell from the pictures). Seating is table chair, booth, bar, and booth/chair. Outdoor seating is also an option. The hostess and waitstaff are friendly and professional. We sat on the second level, which had a nice view of downtown.

It's not a trip to Nada without a Nadarita. This is there signature margarita, it's pure, simple, and hits the spot. Yes, you can order by the pitcher if you were wondering. My stepmom ordered the Strawberry Sparkler. This consist of tequila, lime, triple sec, strawberry, and cava (Spanish sparkling wine). Word on the street is they were generous with the tequila. A definite recommendation if you are looking for something sweet and bubbly.

Order-Up

O.G. Guacamole

We started off with the O.G Guacamole. I could crush a basket of these chips & guac on my own. Chips are house made as well as the guacamole. Chips are nice, crunchy, and salted to perfection. The guac is cool and refreshing.

Eggs Goettadicto

The brunch menu at Nada is a lot smaller than I originally remember. The currently offer three brunch-specific options. The dinner menu is available all day as well broadening the selections. I was relieved to see the Eggs Goettadicto was still available. This is a Nada brunch classic and use to be my go to. This dish consists of poached eggs, avocado, goetta, on English muffin. It is topped with pico and hollandaise. This dish was exactly how I remembered it, except for one small overpowering detail. For some reason, it was extremely salted. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed.

"World Famous" Braised Chicken Enchiladas

My stepmom went with the "World Famous" Braised Chicken Enchiladas. In addition to braised chicken, these enchiladas include sweet corn, black bean, cheese, and couscous. It is topped with cream, scallion, and red diablo sauce. My stepmom stated this dish was delicious and had great flavor.

Overall Experience

The overall experience at Nada was wonderful. Atmosphere delivered, service was good, drinks were on point, chips/guac, and enchiladas were on point. Expect to pay 20 to 30 dollars to dine here.

Rating 3.5

Nada receives 3.5 stars. One for each of the following categories: Atmosphere, AM Cocktail, & Service. They receive half a star for Plate due to the saltiness of the Eggs Goettadicto. As long as the O.G Guacamole and Nadarita are on the menu I will always remain a loyal patron!
